Skyfarer Community Guidelines
Skyfarer is built to help pilots, aircraft owners, instructors, and aviation businesses connect in a professional, trustworthy environment. These community guidelines outline expectations for using the platform and help ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Be Respectful and Professional
Skyfarer is a professional aviation community. All users are expected to communicate respectfully and thoughtfully with one another, whether discussing flight training, aircraft services, maintenance, ferry flights, gear, or listings.
Harassment, abusive language, intimidation, or disrespectful behavior toward other users will not be tolerated.
Spam, excessive self-promotion, or misleading outreach may result in moderation or account action.
Honest and Accurate Listings
When creating a listing on Skyfarer — whether for flight instruction, aircraft maintenance, aviation services, ferry pilot work, pilot gear, or aircraft listings — users must provide accurate, complete, and honest information.
This includes:
- Clear descriptions of services or items offered
- Accurate qualifications, certifications, and experience where applicable
- Honest disclosure of condition, limitations, or exclusions
- Photos or supporting details that accurately represent what is offered
Misrepresentation increases the risk of disputes and undermines trust within the community.
Completing Transactions in Good Faith
If a user accepts a booking, service request, or purchase through Skyfarer, they are expected to complete the transaction as agreed.
Canceled or abandoned transactions — while sometimes unavoidable — create confusion and frustration. Repeated failure to honor accepted transactions may result in account limitations.
Seller and Service Provider Responsibilities
Sellers and service providers are expected to:
- Respond to inquiries in a reasonable timeframe
- Deliver services or items as described
- Communicate promptly if delays or issues arise
- Comply with applicable aviation regulations and local requirements
Skyfarer does not operate aircraft or provide aviation services directly; responsibility for compliance and execution remains with the listed provider.
Buyer and Client Responsibilities
Buyers and clients are expected to:
- Review listings carefully before committing
- Ask questions in advance if details are unclear
- Confirm receipt of items or completion of services in a timely manner
- Communicate professionally throughout the process
Prompt confirmation helps ensure smooth transactions and timely resolution if issues arise.
Communication on the Platform
We strongly encourage users to keep communications on the Skyfarer platform whenever possible. This helps:
- Maintain clarity
- Reduce misunderstandings
- Allow Skyfarer to assist if disputes occur
Taking transactions or negotiations off-platform may limit Skyfarer’s ability to provide support or mediation.
Safety, Privacy, and Personal Information
Do not post or request sensitive personal information, including private contact details, documents, or screenshots of private conversations.
Users should never pressure others to share personal data or move communications in ways that compromise privacy or security.
Prohibited Conduct
Skyfarer does not allow:
- Harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior
- Hate speech or discriminatory content
- Obscene, pornographic, or explicit material
- Fraudulent listings or deceptive practices
- Creation of multiple accounts without prior approval
Disputes and Support
If you encounter an issue — whether related to a listing, transaction, or another community member — please contact Skyfarer Support. Our team will review the situation and assist where possible.
Skyfarer strives to act fairly and reasonably, but reserves the right to take appropriate action to protect the community, including warnings, listing removal, or account restrictions.
Account Enforcement
Accounts found to be in violation of these guidelines may be subject to temporary or permanent restrictions. Decisions are made with the goal of maintaining trust, safety, and integrity across the platform.
